Rdio app update brings a new look and feel, remains available in beta form

There are those who prefer to hold back on app updates until a time when it is clear there are no bugs or other issues. And then, on the other hand there are those who live on the edge updating immediately. It is the latter who tend to play with beta apps. If you fall into that category and also happen to be an Rdio user — you may want to know that a new beta release of Rdio for Android is available.
The release is not found in Google Play. Instead, those interested will be able to grab the app from the Rdio Android Beta Testing group on Google. If you are not already a member of the group you will need to click the blue “join group to post” button. Otherwise, the group will fill you in on what is needed and required. But in the simplest form — you download the app, install the app, begin using the app and then report back to the group with any bugs or issues.
This beta release is v2.3.2 and is part of the 2.3.x family of releases. According to the changelog in the group, this means new features such as a Unified Player, Remote Control, Play Later and a new design. Breaking each of these four features down a bit further and we have the following;

• Unified Player: What you are listening to on web or mobile is synced across all instances of Rdio.
• Remote Control: Control the currently playing Rdio instance from the app. Be controlled by remote Rdio instances.
• Play Later: Add/remove items to your play later queue on web or mobile and they show up everywhere.
• New Design: Slide-out side navigation is accessible throughout the app. White Design

Finally, nothing yet in terms of when we can expect Rdio v2.3.2 to be available in Google Play.
