How to flash TWRP Recovery for the Galaxy S3 L710

How to flash TWRP Recovery for the Galaxy S3 L710

TWRP Recovery is a commonly used custom recovery for Android devices. This software, like other popular custom recoveries such as ClockworkMod Recovery, is essential for flashing custom ROMs, as well as performing device utilities like backup and data wipes.
It is, however, often a bit challenging to flash custom ROMs simply because there are several ways of doing it, depending on the device. Different ROMs often require a specific custom recovery, so if you’re the type of user that flashes a lot of different ROMs every now and then, you might have to switch TWRP Recovery and other recoveries.
XDA Developers member cybrnook has released an Odin-flashable version of TWRP Recovery 2.3.0.0. Now, it’s just a matter of choosing which TAR file to run through Odin and you can change the custom recovery that is running on your phone. It’s a lot simpler and more convenient.
This guide shows you how to flash TWRP Recovery for the Galaxy S3 L710.

Instructions

  1. Extract Odin3-v3.04.zip file into a folder on your computer.
  2. Turn off the phone.
  3. Boot the phone into Download Mode. To do so, hold down the Volume Down, Home, and Power buttons together until a “Warning!!” message is displayed on the screen. Press the Volume Up to enter Download Mode.
  4. In the Odin folder, double-click on Odin3 v3.04.exe to launch Odin on your computer.
  5. Connect the phone to the PC. In the Odin window, you should get the message “Added!!” located on the bottom left.
