Nexus
10 and Nexus 4, it’s hard to remember that there are other devices out
there awaiting release. Such as the Samsung Galaxy Ace II, which
according to
Mobile Syrup, is coming to Bell in Canada on November 15.The
device is about as entry-level as you can get. Simply put, the specs
would’ve been impressive in 2010. It comes with a 1GHz, single core
processor, 1GB RAM, 5MP camera, VGA front facing camera, all sitting
behind a 4-inch, 480 by 800 resolution screen. It comes in white and
cobalt and packs a modest 1,500mAh battery.
The Galaxy Ace II
won’t turn any heads, that’s for certain. However, it is at least priced
appropriately. It’ll go for $250 outright with no contract. Of course,
the 8GB, unlocked Nexus 4 is only $299. So for an extra $49 you can have
better, well, everything.
So who would want the Galaxy Ace II?
There
are still demographics out there that could find a use for the Galaxy
Ace II. If you don’t want to spend a lot of money and need a back up
phone, for instance. Or if your kids are getting to that age when they
can start having a cell phone, this could be good for them as well. Is
anyone going to get the unimpressive Galaxy Ace II when it gets
released?
